Washington County

Law Enforcement Assisted
Diversion Program

This Adult Services program provides harm reduction services, peer support, and community case management to adult county residents at-risk for law enforcement intervention based on poverty, homelessness, substance dependence, and unmet mental health needs. This collaboration with the Washington County Sheriff's Department, Washington County Health Department, and Mobile Crisis team works to divert potential law enforcement intervention including incarceration, which would further disconnect residents from the community resources they need most. If someone struggles with mental health needs, homelessness, or substances, which make them more vulnerable to police contact, they may qualify for this program. Let us know and the Washington County LEAD team can review their needs for approval.
